Katrin Weissensee: Sand Painting for TV / Television

The "quiet" art of telling stories with sand is ideal for television. Since poetry in the entertainment programme, which is currently characterized by mainstream, pastime and fast cuts, does not contradict the needs of the audience.
The sand painter Katrin Weißensee has already worked with her sand art in a variety of TV formats. As a TV guest with a short artistic interlude, or full-length on breakfast television and in the afternoon format, as well as in the gala evening programme with live transmission.

Good sand painting captures the attention of the spectators even over a longer period of time in front of the screen. Not only once was the scheduled airtime for a sand story by Katrin Weißensee spontaneously extended, due to the high (permanent) viewer ratings.
Sand art is an art of moving images, created only with the hands, entertaining and quite fast-paced. Yet still very different from television, animated films, or cartoons. This otherness of the art by itself creates lasting memories. Many TV shows have already benefited from the sand art.
